Free School Bid - Folkestone
FREE SCHOOL BID, PENT VALLEY TECHNOLOGY COLLEGE SITE, FOLKESTONE
Since its creation in September 2010 Swale Academies Trust has become a strong and successful school improvement partner, specialising in taking schools in Ofsted category and turning them into good schools. We don’t seek to develop clone schools that deliver education in a regimented manner. We value the development in our schools of a spirit of enquiry and action research that provides the best possible education that is right for pupils in a local setting.
Our Trust presently consists of 5 Primary Schools and 3 Secondary Schools. As a successful school improvement partner, working with local authorities we are currently supporting The North School in Ashford, Community College Whitstable, and Peacehaven Community School in East Sussex. Year on year we have seen improvements in results across the Trust.
Swale Academies Trust’s vision is based on the assurance that pupils well-being and progress is at the heart of what we do. Ultimately, our ambition is driven by enabling schools and children to succeed.
In recent months, we have been working closely with both parents and students of Pent Valley Technology College, we are committed to ensure that every Year 11 child receives the best education to reach their full potential and prepare them for their next stage in life.
Lead Applicant, Simon Cox, Headteacher of Westlands School “I am a parent of two school aged children so I understand the need to ensure your child has the opportunity for a good education. I have worked in and supported other schools across Kent for the last 18 years. I believe an outstanding education is commitment to core academic subjects. My own school, Westlands, has been judged as ‘Outstanding’ in its last two Ofsted inspections, I wouldn’t expect second best and I don’t think you should either.”
Swale Academies Trust strongly believes parents need educational choice and we want to open a Free School on the old Pent Valley site which reflects the values and needs of local families. The school will open in September 2018. Our school will welcome children of all abilities and needs, all faiths, cultures and children from any socio-economic background.
We are currently gathering feedback from the local community in respect of educational provision in the local area and would like to know your views.
We would appreciate you taking the time to complete our short online survey which can be found via the link http://goo.gl/ahDnOp

We would welcome the opportunity to work with the families of Folkestone in the near future.
